General Terms and Conditions Erasmus Community Network


1. Membership

The membership of the Erasmus Community Network, hereinafter referred to as ‘Erasmus Community’, is linked to an individual and is not transferable. Membership is available to people with an entrepreneurial spirit and a connection to or interest in Erasmus University. The board of the Erasmus Community determines who are admitted as members.

2. Contribution

The Erasmus Community is an independent organization. The costs of the Erasmus Community are financed from membership fees, grants, donations from affiliated members, and/or acquired sponsorship funds. Each member receives a monthly invoice for membership. Payment for the membership must be made within 14 days of the invoice date. Tables may request an additional contribution for participation in a table. Each table determines its own contribution.

3. Events

Events are only accessible to members unless otherwise indicated. Each member can register a maximum of one (1) person for an event by registering on the website or by invitation. More people or guests can only be registered with the board's approval. Members always have priority for participation in an event over guests. Additional charges may apply for additional registrations or for guests. If there is limited registration for an event, the Erasmus Community reserves the right to cancel the event without compensation. The Erasmus Community reserves the right to deny access to an event to any individual or group, at the discretion of the board of the Erasmus Community. In case of a no-show, the Erasmus Community has the right to charge the incurred costs. The Erasmus Community reserves the right to deviate from the above conditions. In the case of different conditions, these conditions will be mentioned separately for the respective event.

4. Confidentiality and Liability

The Erasmus Community is not responsible and/or liable for the information provided or made available to participants during events. The Erasmus Community is not responsible and/or liable for actions or offers made through the Erasmus Community by third parties. The Erasmus Community is not liable for injuries, loss, or theft of items during an Erasmus Community event.

5. Termination and Cancellation

Membership is entered into for an indefinite period and can be canceled annually at the end of the fiscal year. The fiscal year runs from September 1 to August 31. Cancellation of the membership can only be done in writing at the end of a membership year and with a notice period of 4 weeks. The first subscription year starts from the registration date, unless otherwise agreed in writing. After that, always from September 1. In addition, membership can be terminated by the board of the Erasmus Community in the following cases:

  • Member, after complaint, does not comply with the rules and agreements as laid down in the membership conditions, or behaves in a manner that is not proper in social intercourse;
  • Member fails to pay the contribution for a period of two months.

6. Applicable Law

Only Dutch law applies to all rights, obligations, offers, orders, and agreements to which these terms and conditions apply, as well as to these terms and conditions. All disputes between parties will exclusively be submitted to the competent Court of Rotterdam.
